FEES

Our fees are $2.50 - $3.00 per class, plus some variations for private lessons and Zumba, but any support you can give over and above this will be greatly appreciated as we are running as a not-for-profit organisation and depend on support from our students and families and sponsorship from the community and businesses along with fundraising events.

The fees are structured this way as I want to give back to the community my love for dance.

As mentioned a lot of children and adults never get the chance to participate in any performing arts classes due to the lack of finance and the rising cost of living. I want to give all the chance to do that.

Dance is not something that you just do, it forms part of who you are, and once it is in your blood it is very hard to let it go.

If you have been given the talent for dance, music, or drama, and you cannot do it for whatever reason, it makes up a small part of something you may be missing in your life. So basically, because God gave me the gift of dance, I want to give you the chance to nurture the gift that you have been given.

To pay fees, write the students name, classes and dates paying for, and amount on an envelope, and put in your payment, and the students may put it into the ‘Fees Box’ that is located in Reception.

Envelopes will be available in Reception.

FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP

Light of the World will survive mainly on fundraising and sponsorship from families, the public and from businesses.

Fundraising events will be held right throughout the year, from sausage sizzles to raffles to chocolate drives to discos. These events are crucial to Light of the World and participation by everyone, if possible, will be greatly appreciated, not only by the staff but by the students and parents as well, as the proceeds from these events will go towards rent and everyday running of the studio, etc.

To learn more about sponsorship, please see Sponsorship Packages.

ANNUAL CONCERT

Each year Light of the World will present an Annual Concert where the students will be able to display what they have achieved in their classes.

The concert will normally be held during late Term 3 or early Term 4, so as not to put pressure on students and families close to Christmas.

As I do not want to incur any huge expense to the students, all the costumes for the concert will be rented to the students for a very small fee of not more than $5.00 a costume.

EXAMS

Exams are totally optional. Students do not have to do them.

Light of the World will hold in-studio exams, in Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Tap near the end of Term 4.

Exams are a good way of monitoring the students progress, but as mentioned they are totally optional and in no way, will not participating in them, hinder a students progress. A student’s advancement into the next grade will be monitored on what they have attained during the whole year, and is not wholly dependent on the outcome of exams.

OTHER INFORMATION

During the first week of the April, July, and September/October School holidays we will be holding a Holiday Workshop. There will be different classes and activities running all day, with the possibility of some classes being taught by guest teachers.

Students may attend any amount of classes and on the Friday evening there will be a party to celebrate finishing the week.

If you are interested in hiring a locker, please see the person attending reception or leave a note in Donna’s pocket.

REFRESHMENTS

We recommend students bring water or water based drinks only to class. Please, no milk, fizzy drinks or energy drinks like V.

If the students need to eat between classes, please only bring a light, healthy snack, as a full meal sits heavily on the stomach.

Students will be able to keep their food and drinks in the fridge in the kitchen located in the studio, during their classes.
